The Jerry Lake Memorial Education Scholarship was established in the memory of one of the company’s founders. Jerry Lake, along with his father and brother started Rain for Rent in 1950. Rain for Rent, a dba of Western Oilfields Supply Company established in 1934, pioneered the agricultural irrigation equipment rental business.
Jerry Lake was personally instrumental in the development of portable sprinkler irrigation throughout the Western United States. A Mechanical Engineer, he designed and built many of the agricultural products that are still used in the industry today.
Expanding into the tank rental business in 1990, Rain for Rent is now among the top industrial rental companies in the United States. A leader in pump, tank, pipeline and filtration rentals, Rain for Rent has worked on projects as diverse as mine dewatering, bypass pumping, fire protection and environmental remediation.
Although the company has expanded into various markets and industries with over sixty branches throughout the United States and Canada, it continues to focus on the agricultural markets with branches located strategically throughout California, Arizona and Idaho.
